  • The value of Prince Edward Island’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at market prices for 2007 is estimated to be $4,538 million.
  • In 2007, PEI companies exported over $802 million in products and services to more than 70 countries.
  • Exports of agriculture and fishing products made up 66.9 per cent of all international exports of goods in 2007, for a total of $512.9 million. Other Island exports, valued at $254.4 million, included $120.8 million in machinery and equipment (up by 46.4 per cent from 2006), $14.1 million in industrial goods and $119.3 million in other Island-made products.
  • Exports made up approximately 18% of PEI’s GDP in 2007.
  • It is estimated that 45% of everything Canadians produce is exported each year.
  • The aerospace products and parts represent over 5% of total provincial exports and is valued at close to $50 million in sales each year.
  • The value of provincial exports was estimated at $350 million dollars in 1996, and by 2007 that number has risen to over $800 million annually. Today, PEI companies distribute products and services all over the world, including Japan, Latin America, South Africa, Western Europe and North America.
